Thermal Performance

As quartz glass has extremely low expansion coefficient, it has very good thermal shock resistance.
Quarts glass is a poor conductor of heat.

Main electrical properties of quartz glass are high dielectric field intensity, low dielectric loss and low electrical conductivity. Therefore, it is widely used in manufacturing high-frequency high-pressure insulator, particularly applicable in high temperature and high mechanical stress occasions.
Chemical Performance
Quartz glass is a kind of material with very good chemical stability, and will not react with water, saline solution and most acid. Compared with common glass, quartz glass does not absorb moisture or efflorescence. It has to be noted that quartz glass is very sensitive to all alkali and alkaline compounds. Even the very little content of such compound will result in quartz glass devitrification at high temperature.
